Kinesiology and Energetic Medicine
-
What is Kinesiology and how does it work?Kinesiology uses muscle testing as a tool to identify imbalanced and/or stressed areas in the body. By applying gentle pressure on specific muscles, a kinesiologist can ask questions of the body and find pockets of stress and tension. These imbalances may indicate physical, emotional, or energetic disruptions, and kinesiology aims to restore balance and improve health.

What is Energetic Medicine and how does it work?Energetic Medicine refers to healing practices that focus on the body’s energy systems. At Nueva Ola we use modalities such as acupressure, massage, guided meditation, chakra balancing, sound and crystal therapy - all aiming to balance and optimize the flow of energy in the body for physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Energetic Medicine is based on the concept that the body has energy pathways and disruptions, stagnation or imbalances in these pathways can lead to illness or emotional distress. The techniques listed above are used to balance, clear, and restore the body’s energy flow to promote healing.

Are Kinesiology and Energetic Medicine Safe?Yes! Kinesiology is a non-invasive and gentle therapy that uses muscle testing to detect imbalances. It is considered safe for people of all ages, including children and the elderly. Energetic Medicine is also non-invasive and considered safe when practiced by trained and experienced practitioners. Michelle has qualifications in both Kinesiology and Mind Body Medicine.

Is Energetic Medicine Scientifically Proven? While there is ongoing research in the field of energy medicine, some of the concepts remain outside the mainstream medical understanding. Many practitioners and patients report positive outcomes, and some scientific studies support the benefits of energetic healing practices, especially in stress reduction, pain management, and emotional well-being. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has utilised energetic healing for over 2,000 years, while yoga and Ayurvedic medicine have incorporated energy healing as a core practice for more than 5,000 years.

How many sessions will I need? The number of sessions will depends on your specific concerns and goals. Some people may experience improvement after just one session, while others may need ongoing support. Your kinesiologist will help determine the best approach for you.
