One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. Massage prompts the release of endorphins - which promote feelings of wellbeing, and reduce levels of stress hormones like adrenalin and cortisol.

Types of massage available include:
Remedial
Remedial massage works by lengthening and stretching both muscles and connective tissue to reduce pain and discomfort. It helps break down adhesions (or knots) which brings new blood into the affected areas and helps the body to heal itself. Medium to Strong pressure.

Sports
Sports massage is beneficial not only for athletes, but anyone who engages in physical activity. This technique is ideal to treat and prevent injuries. It helps relieves the build-up of lactic acid, increases range of movement and improves muscle balance. Medium to Strong pressure

Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage focuses on targeting the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is particularly effective for treating chronic pain, muscle tension, and stiffness. By using firm pressure and slow strokes, deep tissue massage works to break down adhesions and release tight muscles, promoting improved blood circulation and flexibility. Strong pressure

Pregnancy
Pregnancy massage is gentle and soothing - specifically for expectant mothers. It focuses on relieving the physical discomforts commonly experienced during pregnancy, such as back pain, swelling, and tension in the shoulders and legs. It can also help improve circulation, reduce stress, and promote relaxation for both mother and baby. Special care is taken to ensure safety and comfort, using side-lying or supported positions to avoid pressure on the abdomen.

Relaxation/Swedish
Relaxation/Swedish massage is perfect for easing stiff, sore, and aching muscles, helping you unwind and relax. This soothing massage enhances blood circulation, aids in the removal of toxins from the body, and can be especially beneficial for those with hypertension. Using light to medium pressure, it promotes relaxation while relieving tension and improving overall well-being.

Intuitive Massage
Intuitive Massage is where the massage therapist relies on their intuition—their natural ability to sense and understand the needs of the body—to guide the treatment. Rather than following a specific, rigid protocol, the therapist tailors the massage based on what feels right in the moment, using their instincts and sensitivity to respond to the client's physical and energetic needs.
There is always the option to combine different types of massage to address your specific needs.

FAQs
Remedial Massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management. It is performed to create favourable conditions for the body to return to normal health after injury and is defined by the premise that the treatment can reasonably reverse certain physical effects that are present in patients. If a patient has suffered a moderate injury resulting in structural pain and/or loss of function, then remediation may be required to reduce or eliminate pain and help restore the body’s function to normal.
Remedial Massage is designed to balance muscle/soft tissue length and tension which may in turn promote the return to normal joint function. Massage also promotes the flow of blood and lymph, particularly to injured areas, thus reducing damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions that may result from injury.
Massage therapy offers a wide range of benefits, including but not limited to:
Reducing muscle tension and pain
Improving flexibility and range of motion
Promoting relaxation and stress relief
Boosting circulation
Alleviating headaches
Enhancing mental clarity and emotional well-being
Supporting recovery from injury or surgery
Improving sleep quality

Massage is generally safe and well-tolerated, but some people may experience mild soreness or fatigue after a session, especially if deep pressure was used. Drinking plenty of water afterward can help prevent soreness and promote detoxification. If you have specific medical concerns, consult with your healthcare provider before getting a massage.
Massage should not be painful, but it may cause some discomfort, especially if there is muscle tension or knots. A good massage therapist will always check in with you about your comfort level and adjust the pressure as needed.
Massage therapy can be safe during pregnancy, but it’s important to see a therapist who has training in pregnancy massage (Vic has this training!). Certain positions and techniques are adjusted for the comfort and safety of both mother and baby. Always consult with your doctor before getting a massage during pregnancy.
No! There are some very important distinctions.
A Remedial Massage Therapist must have formal training in anatomy, physiology and therapeutic techniques.
Victor has a Diploma of Remedial Massage (the most comprehensive qualification for Massage Therapists in Australia) and has 17 years experience in treating clients. He is a member of Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS) - the leading professional association for natural medicine practitioners. This membership requires completion of yearly Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and possession of Professional Indemnity Insurance (which allows him to provide health fund receipts for selected funds).
Anyone can call themselves a 'masseuse' and do not need to have formal training. It's always best to confirm accreditations before making a booking.

The frequency of massages depends on your personal needs, lifestyle, and the goals you're hoping to achieve. Some people benefit from a massage once a week, while others may only need one every month. If you're dealing with chronic pain, stress, or recovering from an injury, more frequent sessions may be helpful.
It’s perfectly fine to talk if you wish to communicate about your pressure preferences, areas of tension, or any discomfort. Vic is also always happy for a chat! Many clients choose to relax in silence - it’s entirely up to you!
The amount of clothing you wear during a massage is completely up to you. You should feel comfortable. Most people choose to undress to their comfort level, and the therapist will ensure you are properly draped with towels or sheets for privacy. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
During a massage session, you will typically be asked to lie on a massage table, and the therapist will usually use oils to facilitate smooth movement. The therapist will apply various techniques based on the type of massage you're receiving. You should feel relaxed throughout, and the therapist will adjust pressure as needed.
