Reflections on the year just gone

For the last few years, we've started a little reflection ritual at the end of and/or beginning of the year.


It is a practice that helps us to acknowledge our achievements, to pinpoint areas for improvement and to get excited about our plans for the new year.


We set up a space, make some cacao, light some candles and write. We reflect individually and then share what comes up with each other. Sometimes it's difficult to recognise our own accomplishments clearly so it's great when they are pointed out by someone else :)


These are some prompts that we use when reflecting:



There are plenty of other questions you can ask and your ritual might look completely different. It could be quiet solo journalling, vision boarding with a group of friends or you might choose to hold a ceremony with sage and a cleansing fire to burn away what no longer serves you.


Whatever you choose to do, I highly recommend that you don't skip this process! It's a chance to acknowledge what has passed, show gratitude for the blessings and lessons received and to set yourself up for the year ahead.


For me, I'm grateful for being able to travel this year, for the health of my friends and family and for my work that is becoming increasingly rewarding the more people I meet in my kinesiology practice and Yoga classes.
