Spring is the season for growth, renewal and fresh energy.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Spring is related to the Wood Element and the Liver and Gallbladder Energy Meridians. Supporting these meridians and their organs can help your body release stagnation from winter, clear energy and build your vitality - which will very much be needed in the months of action ahead.
Emotionally, stagnant Qi (energy) can cause stress, overwhelm, overthinking, anger and frustration. Physically it can manifest in pain (anywhere in the body), headaches, poor sleep, vision problems, muscle tightness and inflexibility,
To help you get ready for Spring - to lighten and detoxify - I've created a 3 Day Spring Wholefoods Reset with simple, nourishing and warming recipes which aid in detoxification of the liver and gall bladder and assist with digestion and the smooth flow of Qi through the body.
Food affects how we feel - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It affects our daily energy and vitality and our capacity for life. To fire on all cylinders, we want our Qi to flow smoothly through our organs, blood and digestive systems.
The goal of eating with the Wood Element and Spring Season in mind is to remove stagnation and to encourage rejuvenation. Foods to include to support the Wood Element:

All green foods
Beetroot
Sweet potato
Dandelion tea
Fennel
Radish
Ginger
Garlic
Wheat, oats, rye
Dried beans - lentils, peas, mung beans and lima beans
Citrus fruits
Green apple
Hawthorn berry
Turmeric
Apple Cider Vinegar
Light, uplifting and energising methods of cooking should be used - steaming, blanching, sauté. Soups and broths are great.
Avoid too much oil or fat as this burdens the liver and gallbladder.

Does your Wood Element need extra support?
Do you get irritated/upset/angry easily?
Are you living with a constant undercurrent of stress?
Are you dealing with unexplained tension or pain in the body?
Are your muscles always tight or stiff?
Does your to-do list seem never-ending?
Are you a perfectionist?
Do you have very high expectations of yourself and others?
If the answer to one (or all!) of these questions is a big YES - it may be a sign that your Wood Element is out of balance.
Kinesiology can help uncover and release the root causes behind these patterns in order to facilitate lasting change.
Kinesiology sessions can be done face-to-face or online
